Squire Patton Boggs advising on Chelsea bid

Firm's partner Brian Gordon leading team instructed by the Blue Football Consortium

Squire Patton Boggs is advising the Blue Football Consortium – which is led by property

developer Nick Candy - on its bid to buy Chelsea Football Club.

Yesterday it was revealed that the consortium had upped its initial £2 billion bid to buy the club after a “large Korean financial institution” had joined the consortium.

Other bidders for the club are understood to include asset management firm Centricus and the Ricketts family, which owns Chicago Cubs.

A shortlist of preferred bidders will be drawn up by merchant bank The Raine Group.

The Squire Patton Boggs team advising the Blue Football Consortium is being led by partner Brian Gordon.
