Chilean law firm contacts Santiago City FC alleging trademark infringement

Manchester City has sent a ‘cease and desist’ letter – via law firm Sargent & Krahn – to Santiago City football club, claiming that the Chilean club’s crest amounts to unauthorised use of the English Premier League Club’s trademark and “distinctive design”.
Sargent & Krahn, a Chilean law firm specialising in intellectual property, sent a nine-page letter to Santiago City claiming Manchester City’s trademark had been infringed.
Santiago City play in the third tier of Chilean football.
Sargent & Krahn is led by managing partner Juan Pablo Matus.
