Studio Gatti Pavesi Bianchi Ludovici, and Legance also advise on sale of 55% stake

Law firms Kirkland & Ellis, Studio Gatti Pavesi Bianchi Ludovici, and Legance all provided advice on the recent sale of a 55 per cent stake in the Italian Serie A club Atalanta.
The stake was acquired by a consortium of investors led by Stephen Pagliuca, managing partner and co-owner of the Boston Celtics and co-chairman of Bain Capital.
Kirkland & Ellis advised Pagliuca – the Kirkland team was led by debt finance partners Neel Sachdev (pictured) and Kanesh Balasubramaniam and associate Marco Bagnato and capital markets partner Matthew Merkle.
The consortium acquiring the stake also received legal advice from Legance.
The Percassi family, which sold the stake, received legal advice from Studio Gatti Pavesi Bianchi Ludovici.
The Percassi family also engaged BofA Securities as financial adviser and Deloitte as business adviser.
The group of investors was also advised by Alvarez & Marsal, and Pirola, Zei, Pennuto & Partners provided tax advice.
