Football Australia to hire legal counsel

National governing body is looking to recruit lawyer focused on disciplinary matters


Football Australia, the national governing body for football in Australia situated on the lands of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, is looking to recruit a legal counsel (disciplinary).


Reporting to the senior legal counsel & general manager - integrity, the fixed-term Sydney based role will provide support across a range of disciplinary, grievance and integrity matters, with a primary focus on managing Football Australia’s grievance and disciplinary systems for the national leagues and community football.


Other duties and responsibilities will include managing the administration of the National Code of Conduct and Ethics disciplinary procedure, including the preparation of procedural documentation, as well as assisting in the administration of the national grievance and disciplinary systems and servicing of the independent judicial bodies of Football Australia.


In addition, duties will include assisting in the administration, monitoring and enforcement of league compliance matters including formal notification to the clubs, players and officials.
