Law firm advising Ligue de Football Professionnel on investment fund sale

Paris-headquartered law firm Darrois Villey Maillot Brochier will advise French football’s governing body, Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP), on the sale of a stake in its commercial arm to one of four investment funds.
Friedman, Oaktree, CVC, and Silver Lake are believed to be the four investment funds vying for the stake, which is expected to be in the region of 12-15 per cent, but could reportedly go up to 20 per cent.
LFP is hoping to receive €1.5 billion for the stake.
When all the offers have been received, LFP will consult with Darrois – and with it’s other advisers, Lazard and Centerview – before making a decision on which investment fund to select as a partner.
