Brussels law firm advised Dutch footballer against former agent

Brussels law firm Cresta successfully represented Dutch footballer Stefan De Vrij in a case brought against his former agent SEG.
The Court of Amsterdam has found that, when De Vrij joined Inter Milan from Lazio in 2018, SEG acted for both Inter Milan and De Vrij.
Consequently, the court ruled that De Vrij should be compensated by SEG to the tune of €5.15 million.
A Cresta statement said: “For the first time, the role of agents in transactions is scrutinised by a civil court, where conflicts of interest, lack of transparency and disproportionate commission fees are penalised, and an unprecedented indemnity is awarded.”
