Club reaches out-of-court agreement with former owner Sam Hammam concerning £15m claim

Cardiff City has settled its legal dispute with former owner Sam Hammam after agreeing an out-of-court settlement related to a £15m claim.
Current Bluebirds owner Vincent Tan has agreed the settlement in relation to Hammam’s claim which concerned the terms of the Cardiff presidency given by Tan nine years ago as a “goodwill gesture”, while paying off a £24 million Langston loan notes debt.
Under the terms of the out-of-court settlement, it is understood Hammam will forgo the presidency and end any involvement with the club.
The club’s adviser in the dispute was Chris Nott, senior partner at Cardiff-based firm Capital Law.
