Campos Mello advises on record football deal

Brazilian law firm acted for 777 Partners on Vasco da Gama acquisition



Brazilian law firm Campos Mello Advogados in cooperation with DLA Piper advised private equity fund 777 Partners on the acquisition of a 70 per cent stake in Brazilian football club Vasco da Gama for R$700 million (US$139 million).


The offer values the club at R$1.7 billion (US$339) and represents the largest deal in the history of Brazilian football.


Under the terms of the deal, 777 Partners has agreed to provide the club with a R$70 million (US$13 million) bridge loan, convertible into Vasco SAF shares at the closing of the transaction.
